    My water so far...

Okay, so @ 48 hrs. after fill, and adding Discus buffer to my water, I come up with a PH @ 6.4, 4 degrees KH, and 13 degrees GH. My temperature at testing was at 82.4 degrees F. Do I need to get my KH and GH numbers down at all? I think my KH is okay, but could be dropped a little, but the GH is very high. What is the best way to get that down? Peat? Pillows?? Suggestions guys!!

What was the reading of your water before you add anything to the tank?

Discus Buffer will change your pH level for sure.

Water straight from the tap is PH 7.4, KH 2 degrees, and GH 10 degrees. I have flourite substrate in my sump for a freshwater refugium, and the main tank has silica pool filter sand substrate. Is there any way that the flourite raised the GH and KH??

Did another test, my PH is still at 6.4, the KH is at 3, and the GH is at 12. I put some water softener pillows in there, but I still would like my GH to come down some! Any help is apprecaited!!
