Neon lights and Discus with plants!
Hi, just wanted to ask whether you could use neon lights (the ones u find at jaycar or dick smith) and use them oustide your tank (behind the glass) at night to illuminate the tank with either a green/blue or red light.... Will the neon light do something to the discus or the plants?
I just dont wanna test and find out lol so if neone knows whether using neon lights to light up the discus tank at night is ok please let me know!

I have two 300mW Green cold cathode neons from jaycar that I use as nightlight, and at feeding time outside of lighting hours.
works a treat, great for viewing

I actually just brought a 50W underwater Halogen light. It has changable covers so you can change the colour of the light.
Its not too bad as it creates a lighted end and a nice soft light at the other end of my 10 footer.
