    cobblestone affect hardness?

    hello all
i have a question regarding rock in a discus tank. i used the cobble stone in my 80 gal african cichlid tank 2 weeks ago i changed it over to get it ready for a discus tank. i have 4 peices that are softball size, i washed the rocks and cleaned it with vinager to get any salts and calcium off them.
question--is the cobblestone going to make my water harder and if so, i really like the little rock area tha i have made is their another rock that wont affect the hardness.

    Thanks

    hardness

I know that goldenpigeon on this forum mentioned a while ago about how to see if a rock/pebble will increase hardness. Can't remember where it was..

Hopefully GP will see this msg and tell you the answer.

The safest way is to do an acid test. Use some PH Down on the rocks, if it boubles, it will change your PH level.

i will try the Ph down thing, right now i let a bucket age so the Ph wont fluctuate, and i have 2 good sized cobblestone rocks in it to see if it changes anything.
so you guys know of any rock that for sure wont, what do you guys that put rock in your tank use?

    Thanks
