filter media
I have ehiem professionsl model 2229 wet dry filter
i want to use the same for my 4x2x2 tank for discus
kindly advise me regarding the filter media i should use

Sorry, I don't use the wet/dry model, but I know some of our members have used one. Wait for one of them to post some details.

My Eheim is a 4x18x18 sump but its wet and dry so I suppose the principal is the same. I use Bio Balls, Gutter Guard, sponge and matting on the top. You could also use ceramic noodles. There is an Eheim media that a friend of mine just bought and it apparently has 4-5 times the surface area of Bio Balls, cant remember the name of it but Im sure your local Eheim dealer will.

Its Called Ehfisubstrat Got some in my canister and it works awesome.

Eheim wet/dry come with eheim subtrat pro. why use anything else. you can not find anything better then that, and they are very expensive at LFS.
I have used eheim wet/dry for few months now..and after few test...now i only use eheim subtrat pro that come with the canister...and also still use the pre-filter till today...
