    Feeding Discus Fry

    Hi everyone

Hoping to get some help re feeding discus fry.

I'm aware that one of the best foods to start feeding fry is newly hatched brine shrimp.

Just wondering whether anyone has tried to feed them frozen baby brineshrimp rather than live? Will this work?

    Hi pappyy3,

You will hear many veiws on this subject and I guess what works for 1 breeder doesn't always work for others.
Firstly I use only frozen brineshrimp on all my fry and have had terriffic success, the key is to thraw the shrimp on spoon to room temp, and with a syringe squirt the shrimp either next to the parents or sporning cone, you must use only a small amount for the first couple of days and you will be able to watch the young catch and eat them.
When you know the shrimp are being eaten then and only then increase the amount you feed each time,at least 4 feeds a day.
Make sure while you are feeding brineshrimp you wipe down the inside of your tank daily, let the mess settle and do a small water change to syphon of any uneaten shrimp.
This works well for me and I hope it gives you a starting point, good luck !!!
