i have a 180litre tank, dimensions are 92 x 41 x 55 cm.
i know this question has been asked many times but i want to check is this tank really big enough to hold discus and for them to be happy, e.g would i be able to have enough of them for them to live happily, when fully grown will they still be able to swim about etc

You can have 4 of them.
In general, sometimes tank raised fish are more agreesive than wild caught. There was a study just went out few days ago confirmed that. Their reason was that tank raised fish spend less time on food and in return, they spend more time defending their turf. Here is the link

You may have some issues with only 4 of them. Other option is to go for a bigger tank (250l?) so you can have at least 6 of them. That seems to less some of the chasing and picking.
