Can you take fish on as hand luggage?
As said above, can you? Im flying up to QLD in about 2 weeks and should have some spare time on my hands .. im keen on picking up some Angelfish, BN, plecos etc ... Just a few common bits and pieces ..
Now im sure i've read in a post of ladyred's that you can take fish on as hand luggage .. Is this true?

Yep, I have taken them in a small esky type bag. Best to ring the airline first the check, but I had no trouble with Virgin.

As was mentioned ring the airline first, I think it may only be a problem depending on water volume. With angels or several fish you may exceed the determined safe water quantity, airlines can be a bit funny about water seeping into the electricals , ring first.
