Hair grass
I've read that it should be planted in small bundles of about 5 plants spaced out at 1cm apart if you want a 'carpet' effect. After planting it should be trimmed to 2 -3 cm in height.

I agree, the smaller and more spread out each plant is the faster it will send out runners and form a carpet effect.
I found that planting is impossiable with fingers and required tweezers.
Although time consuming it is definately worth it!!

I would plant in small bunches around 5cm apart.
Using CO2, good lighting and fertilizers really heaps this plant grow well.

So once you plant it you trim it ? like mowing the lawn...Does the grass just keep growing once its cut or does it die off and you await another blade.

Does anyone have any photographic proof of success with Hairgrass?
