substrate and fert's and loads of questions
Got a few questions for ya all.
I recently got another 4 foot tank. This time i wanna do it right. As in the other tanks the only thing that seems to grow is java fern and anything potted in rockwool.
So im gonna be adding some EcoComplete substraight.
Im wondering- 1- how big do the bags come?
-2- how many bags would i need for a 4 foot tank?
-3- I have seen some people also use pool sand aswell.
Can someone explain the layers, how i go about it which to use first etc. If it needs to be pre soaked the substraight.
And other than normal plant food (if u even still use it or not??), do u adding anything else as fertaliser for plants.
As i thought the echo complete had most of the nutrients in it thats needed, i could be wrong here though.
Any help is much appreciated

How wide is your tank?4ft x?
You don't need to add anything to Eco Complete,No need for layer's or add anything use it by itself

Since your not quite sure how wide it is,4bags should do be plenty.
No need to cover the Eco unless you don't like the look of black substrate

my local guy i buy from here in HEIDELBERG WEST sells it, well can order it in. As hes doing right that for me now. I wont know prices till 2morrow.
There's a brand online at aquaria.com.au
at 69 bucks a bag its seems quiet expensive, but if it keeps plants from dying and healthy and no plant food is needed, then i guess in the long run it's worth it.
