    discus scratching

    one of my blue diamonds
    is contantly scratching his face on the plants..

    can anyone tell me what he is doing?
    does he have a iritation?
    or is it just normal behaviour?

    Does he line up infront of it and dart across it?? I have this happen alot i think its more them trying to fight the plant, they need to amuse them self some how..

    I have one that has a bit of a dash on some of the plants only then it doese a bit of a spin in the middle so I'm with flukes!

    That could be. The other possibility is gill flukes. Does he also flick off the bottom of the tank?

    Could be flukes or maybe the onset of velvet.... Please keep and eye out on that fish.

    Is gill flukes visible to the eye?? Just wondering because ive heard different responses on this..

    Gill flukes are not visible to the eye. They are easily seen under a microscope though.

    Jeff is right..try using formalin.
