    Ottos and Bristlenose

Can these be placed in the same tank together?! Im setting up a 72 gallon bowfront plant, discus tank..and trying to figure out what im going to do with the algae situation. Any ideas? Advice?

If im not mistaken you can really only have 1 male bristlenose per tank, there territorial, no? Which leads me to believe if you have another bottom feader, such as a school of ottos they would attack them and cause problems in the tank for the discus.

    Thanks

They're aggression is mostly conspecific (ie they don't like their own kind). That said, they're territory is about 2ft in diameter, so if you've got a big enough tank, 2males with a number of females in a tank is not a problem.

Otos will be fine with them. I have a planted 1'x 1' x 18"high tank with one pair of albino bristlenose and 6 Otos going for nearly 8months now with no problems. I even had a royal whiptail (Sturisoma panamense) in there for a short while without any problems.
