when is the best time to test your water peramiters?

by that i mean, should you test your water before or after a w/c....or before or after feeding???

when is the best time to get the most acurate readings from your water?

I do it right before a WC. So I know the worst the water gets, rather than the best.

I also do a quick pH test after the water change to make sure everything is fine...
