Test Kits for NPK etc

I was seeking some guideance about what test kits to buy and where to buy them.

Some of the USA web forums seems to pushing testing as a big help

Any advice would be much appreciated

I think people do put too much emphasis on the test parameters. Each tank has its own parameters which are different to the "ideal". I believe in just observing your own aquarium and learning the balance, which test kits can aid in this process.
