The new illustrated guide to fish diseases by Gerald Bassleer.
I have just purchased this book through a sponsor of this forum, Age of aquariums.
This is an excellent on fresh water fish diseases with many excellent color photos and information that is in depth as well as up to date.
For those that would like to learn more about diseases that affect our fishy friends this is the book to have! Whether being the king of the aquarium or a humble little guppy?
This book starts off by a questionnaire.
Causes of fish disease and quarantine: To spot or prevent disease and problems.
A/ self examination with questionnaire
B/ causes of fish disease
C/ quarantine
Some other chapters:
Diagnostic Photo list and behavior:
To recognize signs of diseases with the help of 150 photographs
[b] Microscopic examination for specialists
Major fish species (families) with their most common disease.
The most common diseases: examination, causes and treatments.
Medicines with advice on their use. A highly recommend book to have and I give it the Ben’s 9.5 out of 10!
I would like to point out that this is a serious book on diseases.
Prevention is better than cure!
By keeping up regular clean water changes and feeding good quality various foods your discus/fish should be healthy and not be infected with nasty diseases.
