hi
Im not really good at the downloading yet maybe this picture is better
My tank is five feet by two by two and I have three discus about twenty neons seven cardinals two plecos and a couple of catfish

Well, I can see substrate and wood, so I doubt there are too many. Generally, I can't think of a tank having too many plants unless you had tons of stem plants so thick you can't even see in the tank. It would only cause a problem if your fish couldn't even swim... other than that - keep adding plants!
I have posted two pictures of the same 4ft tank. In the first there is too many plants. In the second the layout has changed and you can see the fish !!! Once I got the hang of growing plants I realized the importance of being able to see my fish !! And for those thinking where are the discus the last picture is for you !!!
