Hardy Beginners Discus
What do you think is the best Discus to get for a beginner who's just starting to get into them? I was looking to add some to a 55 gal. tank and wanted to get your guy's opinion.

I would say that Blue Turquoise and Red Turquoise are the hardiest, simply because they are so common "over here", and are bred by just about anyond who breeds discus, even hobbyists.

I would agree with both comments made so far...
as a broad question there really isnt a better or easier type of Discus (not including Wild caughts)...
but,
as Luv suggested, locally bred Discus will be a better option, especially if just starting out. The fish are accustomed to the local water conditions, and if fed a similar or identical diet and everything else is kept in check, you should not have any problems. Be it that this is the same if quality stock is sourced from elsewhere.
