    HEATER QUESTION

    Hey everybody,

I was wondering, im setting up a new discus tank. I have never done discus before so my last tanks were only 3ft tanks. I have just purchased or got made a (5'x20"x14") tank. Now the guy at the store said that I will need a 300w heater but am I better getting 2x 150w heaters for both ends or getting the 300w?

    Just curious!

Id be getting 2x200watt. One at each end. Could get away with 150watts but with 200watt you wwont see much of a temp change at all. Either way you chose to go its better too go with 2 smaller than one 300watt.

    Hey they Rorza

Welcome to DF.com (great to see another local on here)

as per Scotts suggestion, I would be looking at 2 smaller heaters, 2 x 200w would be great, although 2 x 150w would work but wouldnt be as consistent as the 200w'rs...

Any of the sponsors will be able to help out with quality heaters at a good price.
