    Logs in the Tank

    Hi,
    how long do logs have to sit in water before they sink and are able to use them in a tank because i put in a big log last nite and it wouldnt sink it just floated at the top

    Axl if you got the log from an aquarium shop, some of those pieces are pretty dried out before you get them. Depending on the type of wood, it can take a week or two for the for the log to become, completely soaked and sink.

    If you want to speed the process up, you can put the log in a big tub or even the bath, and fill it with hot water.

    Mine has been in my tank for 4 years now and it still floats. Its now tied to a brick to make it behave.
