A UV Steralizer is a piece of equipment that will steralize your water as it passes through it. It makes the water nice and clear and kills bacteria, algae and a few other nasties that hang around in water. I've never set one up on and individual tank but basically you have to have your water go through one end and out the other and after filtration, not before.

I bought mine from Age of Aquariums and from memory I think they were around $150 each. HTH
