    Trickle Filter

My tank is comming with a trickle filter. I thought that this would kill the co2 Im trying to pump into the water but then I read this

    http://www.hallman.org/plant/booth2.html

Does that mean its ok as long as the returns feed straight into the water and not through a spray bar or some other thing. Would sealing (not airtight, just a lid) the sump help out with this. I plan on putting my co2 reactor in my sump.

    THanks,
    Karen

It is worth noting that greater CO2 loss is attributed to surface agitation.

I am not going to say "EMPHATICALLY" yes......

But I think that if you set it up, you may be surprised by the results

I like the wink face! Thats the answer I was hoping for. I had plants to turn rip out bioballs, drop the feed tube deeper into the sump to get away from the whoe "dry" part, but I guess I can leave it as is!

The greater part of this hobby is trial and error.

Just make sure that you let others learn from your experiences

sorry new to this but I have a sump with a spray turning arm. the water then goes through mesh them bio balls. some balls above water and some below..
the water is returned to the tank via spray bar under the water level.

is there a need for me to add co2 generator

I did add a co2 to a tank and the ph droped in its boots all the fish were ok but my heart was not.

the use of co2 is only for plants or fish as well
