breeding discus
whats the smallest tank i can use for breeding discus and hows the best way to set it up.

Hi dismatt and welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you've got some discus you want to start breeding. Have a read through some of the previous posts here for some ideas.
Basically, you want a bare bottom tank, with one or two breeding cones in there, and nothing else. If you use an outside filter, you will need to cover the filter intake so the babies don't end up getting sucked up into the filter.
If you decide to use a sponge filter in the tank, cover it with white filter floss, so the babies aren't attracted to the dark colour.
Personally, I use a standard 2 ft 6 inch tank for breeding, but you can also use a 3 foot, or even a 2 foot square. Anything much bigger, and the babies tend to get lost.
