Patchy Bristlenose
Hey Guys,
I've got a bristle nose pleco. He was dark grey with white spots. Not sure the subspecies...
Anyways at the moment he's gone kinda patchy like he's had bleech poured on him in spots. Large mottle like affect.
Is this normal?
I'm feeding him tetra min tropical tablets.
Cheers
Ant

Hi Ant, no that's not normal. Can you get a pic. It sounds like a fungal infection of some kind.
Bristlenose are mainly vegetarian, and need a lot of greens in their diet. You can drop in some steamed zucchini, a leaf of cos lettuce, or some steamed pumpkin.
They also need to have some driftwood in the tank to rasp on, as they seem to need something contained in the wood in their diet.
