Undergravel filter
Hi all
Do you ( everyone out there) recommend using undergravel filters in a discus tank,assuming of course, you use gravel

NO!!! dont use undergravel filters!!!!! they cannot sustain discus tanks! with so much waste and the kind of food you feed discus you will get problems with an undergravel quite quick. your better off going with a sponge, canister, power filter with spray bar ect.

is it on the tank you want to have a undergravel filter on??? if it is there is no need for the undergravel.

no , undergravel filter sux , dont use them
if u already got canister filter , remove the undergravel filter

The problem with under gravel filters is the amount of waste that gets trapped in the gravel. You would have to be really thorough in vacuuming your gravel several times a week for it to be successful.
I really think the cannister filter with an additional sponge filter is the way to go.
