    Koi Angel Pair

These two have just decided to spawn for the first time, I'm so happy as I have had them since they were very small, not much bigger than a 5c piece. They have grown so well and now have layed a huge batch of eggs, they are still in the community tank but once they have practised a bit I will try them in a small tank of their own.

Well the eggs are eaten now, but they did a great job of protecting them for a day and a half. Then they seemed to get a bit confused and all of a sudden the eggs got mobbed by every angel in the tank....caviar fest time!
Interestingly another pair that have spawned at least once before seemed to take over the eggs at one point, chasing the two that actually spawned them away. The interlopers were cleaning, faning and tending as if they thought they were their own eggs, is this normal behaviour?
Anywhoo at least by keeping them going that long I could see that most of them were fertile so I now know I have a proper pair.
    Angels are fun!
