    Wild Brown Discus

    Hey guys,

Usually stick to the dwarf cichlid section of the forum, so I'm not sure if this is allowed here.

Fishchicks in Brisbane currently has 10 wild brown discus from Glaser in Germany in stock at the moment. I took a couple of photos while in the store today.

Not the best looking wilds thats for sure. They have quite large eyes, poor colour and look slightly skinny!

Woops I made a mistake guys. They are Blues, not Browns. As for the size of the eyes, these guys are only about 6cm to 8cm TL, so they are still juveniles and have just come out of quarentine. It's my understanding that juveniles have larger eyes.

Not being a discus person, I do not know what to look for when looking at a fish.

Not too sure about them being blues they look like browns to me though to be fair both blues and browns could just be color varients of the same sub species (locality varients etc)

they dont look great to me, i'd look for super ed eyes in wilds unlike the fish in the first pic, to he honest I'd expect a higher grade from Glasser but that being said us aussies might not pay what the higher grades are woth.

My pick would be the top fish in the second pic or second from the right in the second pic the other seem to be a little too pinched in around the face.

2 Blue (ish) looking fish in the middle in the 2nd pic but they sure look like Browns. I can't recommend these fish they look as if they are either ill or about to get ill or at least in very poor condition.
