    Could someone please ID this Geophagus

    Hi
    Could someone please ID this Geophagus.
    It is being sold as an Altifron but not what sort.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    They are two different species.

    and as Matt said the second is G. sp. "Rio Branco"

    If you are looking to buy... try getting pics of the actual fish or parents of the fish for sale.

    The fish in the last pics that you've posted are Geophagus abalios.

    Last pic - due to the tail pattern and the dot, definitely Abalios
