Some help to spawn my wilds please??

    Hi all

Has anyone had any luck with spawning wilds. I currently have 4 tanks containing about 50 discus of different strains. Except for the odd bit of shaking for each other, there has been no activity, let alone pairing off.
I have now added some peat to the external filtration unit in an attempt to soften the water and hopefully have some luck. The fish are thriving...feeding well and really looking good, just not showing any breeding behaviour.

    Hi Rowland
This is not the time of the year for wilds to breed. You have to be patient. If they will decide to breed it will be around february.

    Hi Gajowa

After just accepting your advice, I thought about it and with some help from experts in South Africa, realised you are refering to the Northern Hemisphere. Down here in South Africa, as with all the Aussie folk, our winter is coming to an end now. This would have been the time I suppose to have bred Wilds, with Amazon winter conditions simulated via poor weather, water changes with lower temp water with higher pH.
    Will persist
    Regards
