Suckermouth catfish & Discus ?
Hi,
Ive been told that now ive put some discus into my 7ft catfish tank that i will have to get rid of all the suckermouth cats i have in that tank atm.
These are peppermint bristlenose, longfin albino bristlenose,Royal whiptails and Red whiptails.
Ive read that larger pleco can be a problem when it come to sucking onto the discus`s slime coating but have seen conflicting opinions about other suckermouth cats.
Would like to hear of other peoples experiences
Cheers
Craig

All those fish will be fine with discus, keep an eye on your whiptails, thw discus like to pick at the whips.

as far as i know your suckers will pose no threat.
it's the yellow/ golden suckers that can do some damage...

Absolutely agree.
The larger catfish (plecos etc) will be a problem, but the catties you have won't bother your discus at all.

Thanks for your input everyone
Was a bit worried from hearing a few stories from some people within our cichlid society over here and didnt fancy kicking all my peppy`s and other tankmates out as they have only just begun to breed this year !
Cheers
