cleaning old tanks
hey all d.i.yers
whats the method to cleaning OFF the white scum buildup that tends to build up on old tanks.
i scored a few from the lfs.have taken all old paint off.
now for the inside of tanks.
will a light bleach mix clean it ???
any suggestions

its usually calcium based, I use a good pair of gloves and some hydrochloric acid, watered down to around 10%, it comes off with just a couple of wipes.

Yeh I've tried to remove calcium buildup before with bleech but it had NO effect at all.

It does a brilliant job, but please use strong gloves and wear eye protection. It's pretty toxic stuff.
