do i have to wait 6 weeks b4 adding tetras

I know i have to wait 6-8 weeks b4 i can put discus in my new 500 litre tank for cycling purposes, but my supplier has told me she has neon tetras as well so do i have to wait 6 weeks b4 i can put them in if not what should all my parameters be b4 i put them in.

you can start stocking at the 2 week mark with hardy fish like neons, just add a handfull first, then 2 weeks later a few more, then a few more each week till you've built up your school

Thanks Illusin what do you suggest is an acceptable size school for the tetras? I was thinking of getting 5-7 discus as i think 9 maybe too many and it seems the advice is to get an odd number i was originally going to get 8.

500L is goot for 8-10 discus, 8 would proably be better, with that 8 fish in that tank you could also have 50+ tetras in there.
