    light hight.

I have just bought my 4x150 watt metal halides for my new 7 foot x 2.5 x 2.5 planted tank. it will be my first proper go at having an underwater garden! I was wanting to know the Ideal hight from the water to suspend my light rack. I would also like to note, that its not a good Idea to go 2.5 high unless you have very long arms, I dont, and my underarm is killing me!!!

Really, 2 foot above my tank?? I could put them in the ceiling then. That seems a long way away, not that I know myself or I wouldnt be asking.

too close and they will overheat your tank, i think 18 inches would be the minimum
