SLS: Geophagus altifrons, new discus companion?

Now in shop... Geophagus altifrons "Aripuana". *Rare!*

These are large spectacular and peaceful earth-eaters which can make good companions for discus in a LARGE tank. (biotope correct if you're into wild discus!).

These fry are from the ONLY breeding pair of this variant I know of that have bred in Australia!

These pictured fish are the parents.... originally bought from SLS.

    Geophagus altifrons "Aripuana" 6-7cm --- $90ea

Not the hardest fish to breed.... but so far I only know of ONE breeder in Sydney (and possibly only 1pair in Australia!)

    We have about 30 pieces.

They are in the same family as Red Horse face, Geophagus surinamensis (usually brachybranchus in Aust). The difference, as has been noted is these are a lot more colourful and also get larger. The pelvic fins on these also very very long.
