    Geo with 2 lateral spots

I've had 3 young geos for several months now (i'm told they look like dicrozoster). They're just beginning to show some colour, and one of them has developed 2 lateral spots on each side. I've never heard of geos having 2 spots. is this normal for dicro's?

Do they have black throats? If so, they would be common reds/brachybranchus.

Reason I asked is that I've seen heaps of brachybranchus with multiple spots or varied shape of the spots. I believe they are low quality and highly inbred leading to the traits you're seeing here. These spots will not go away as the fish ages and you should not breed them.

I have not seen any dicros with multiple spots to date and those surely don't look like dicros to me.

    Thanks for the reply

That's a shame, but for now, i have no intention of breeding them.

They do show black throats at times (especially when they're being agressive), so you're probably right
