    Photo of Peruvian Angelfish

if you have any photo of your peruvian, can you please post it up here. As i have seen some peruvians with different spot colours on them, im interested to know what theirs look like and see how much the difference in every peruvian can be.

Hi BT. I have got some wild caught Peruvians. Just youngsters at this stage, around 6 months old.

I'll see if I can talk taksan into taking some pics of them for me tomorrow, and post them here.
Thirty-five years keeping and breeding discus, and I'm still learning :P

I did some reading and searching for info on peruvian angels. There appears to be two types that are sold as Peruvian. Both have highish bodies, a notched nose.

The first is a scalare-looking fish with no spotting and red eyes. The lateral bars are thicker and they lack the little-part-bar under the dorsal fin.

The second has spotting and looks to be from the Rio Momon and Nanay. The lateral bars are thinner and they have the part-bar. These are altum-like in shape and have a higher body than the first type.

Maybe from different areas in Peru? There are also spotted angels that are not peruvian in origin.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Through building and maintaining beautiful natural aquaria, people relearn the intricate connections between forms of life: plants, fish, microorganisms and humans. Riches and beauty come from harmony, from balance. Aquaria are great teachers of this truth." - Takashi Amano
