You may need to check out problems with zinc content?
I use rainwater, but have concrete tanks, and find that you need to be very careful with pH crashes. I keep the kH at 2 and as well as using...

The wet/dry was my one and only experiment with Eheim.
I have tried two other brands of filter (Jebo and Otto) and found them both to be excellent cleaners of the water, and much much cheaper.

Not a UPS, which I also considered but it was appearing pretty costly when I stopped searching for info. I figure that I need to get a solar set up (when I can afford that!) and then I'll think...

Hi Chris,
We are in the Strezlecki ranges on the edge of the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland. We will never have supplied water here; apart from a few small lots, like ours, mostly we are surrounded...

Hi enigmatic,
as someone who does not have water supplied and can only use tankwater, I sympathise with your problem.
You can do reduced water changes if your tank is under rather than...

I have three plecos and several bristlenoses in with my discus. These types of fish need wood. I have never had a problem with them attaching to the discus, however, if there was no driftwood,...

I have my 6' tank set up with two canisters on either end - one outlet runs directing water along the back of the tank - I try and slope the flow so that it starts at the top and ends up near the...

worst filter I ever had - went down the tip!
not enough power to pull water through with a mechanical sponge filter on the intake - if you take it off, you get a slow water flow and the filter...
