hey i followed the instructions and all was going really well. the eggs were developing then overnight a fungus has wiped 75% out, they were due to hatch sometime this afternoon

phpBB is up to v3+ but the forum is still on v2, and its very noticeable for someone who uses other forums that are using current software that this is a bit clunky

yeah i'd also avoid play sand for discus, the clay won't harm the fish but the sand itself will probably contain some ammount of shell grit which will dissolve and increase hardness, ive heard of...

if its play sand form bunnings it will contain clay with a very fine particle size that will not get picked up by your filter

it won't harm the fish, usually if you rinse the sand in a bucket until the water runs clear this won't happen

along with running both for a week, put some of the media from the established filter in the new one, and when you set up the new tank fill it with water from the old tank
