i've only ever heard of using one third ro water and two thirds tap water (or tank water) as pure ro water is too soft for fish as it strips out chemicals mentioned vital to their well being and...

sounds good kale i run a trickle i made like that and after a week and up to two the waste staining on the particle filter stuffs is uniform and looks lik it's working well. tend to rinse it weekly...

between ph 5.9 and 6.2 the parent fishs slime coat doubles i use this range when tank is dedicated to breeders.
recommend slightly lower kh and temp- maybe 2 units each
