i am aware of that. obviously a wild caught "wild" would be more expensive than "tank bred" so called "wild" so how do you distinguish between the two from looking at them? i was told that real "wild caught" one has distinguish dark black rings around the outter fins and the mouth is more pointy. Would you agree with that?
this "mutant" discus thing bugs you big time, doesn't it? do you only keep wild caught?
Good looking fish but the photo has definitely been retouched I can pick out and recreate about 3 different obvious artifacts on that photo. Maybe just opened in PS, but played around in Picasa or something..
Still an awesome fish though, can't ever take that away from it.
You can't distinguish between wild caughts and F1's bred from wild caughts of the same strain.Quote:

I think the word mutant is being thrown around willy nilly.
How do we know variation in wild populations isn't due to mutations?
Can anyone prove non pigeon based fish are mutants?
Just a correction ghost and snakeskin are mutations aswell
very true, there's heaps of bullsh1t in the discus trade.Quote:

Who really cares!! You might like or dislike a certain strain of discus, everone has different tastes.
Wilds are great but so are many other types of discus.
