Clear PVC Pipe - Help
Hey all,
Does anyone know how/where to source clear PVC pipe from?
I'm going to make a DIY CO2 reactor and i want the body to be clear so i can make sure all the CO2 is being disolved prior to the water getting into the tank. Also so i can monitor algae build-up.
Clear PVC pipe is a real challenge. I'm looking for about 2" diameter.
At the moment the only way i can get it is to buy a new 2' long gravel vac and pull it apart and cut it down.
Makes the thing not so cheap, but still cheaper than a brand name reactor capable of dealing with the sort of CO2 flow required & H2O flow out of my big cannisters.

I've looked around and alot of places that sell arcylic sheeting also sell extruded and cast acrylic tubing. Not sure how much it costs tho, check out plastic places in the yellow pages in your area and make a few calls

Buy yourself a large gravel vac.
The end bit that is use to clean gravel with might serve your purpose.
It might be a lot cheaper.

Clark rubber stores and larger "hardware" type stores sell it in lots of different sizes (Victoria) HTH

The problem with the polycarb products (there is no such thing as a clear PVC, it's polycarb or acryllic) is the diameters don't match plumbing fittings that well so there is an increased chance of springing leaks.
