How about adding a few fluro ?
How heavy is your tank planted ?

they look pretty much identical
and since you have to replace the bulb n e way.
The above unit only cost me around $120. comes with ballast, bulb and transformer. All ready tobe plugged in.
the unit is 150w right?
finding a 150w twin plug halogen in 6500k is a bit of a pain.
well, i havent been able to n e way.
I use 10000k on mine..
Good luck.

Eric

MH will cover a 2x2ft area.
So depending on what plants you have, you'd probably have to go with 2x150's.
bad news unless u get some to make them, you cant get double ended blubs under 10000K, its blows big time
where can you source 10,000K MH globes from locally...
Not keen on ordering sensitive MH globes over the net really :S
I have a 5 foot halide on my 6 foot planted tank which cost me a good $700., and after having that I wouldn't go anything less, especially for a planted tank.
