bit of advice needed
hi all i have bought a pair of eruption discus they was a pair but not a proven pair.
they have laid 6 timesn ow and they look after the eggs perfect but they funguss on day 5/6 the female is about a good 2" bigger then the male i think i have got a young male...
i have just bought another big male what is a proven pair but sadly his female died.
when my female lays eggs they are brown is this normal as all the pics i have seen they are red?

The eggs should hatch on day 3 or 4, any left after that will not be viable.
Do you have much current running around the tank? I would turn off all filtration when you see them start to spawn.
Also, lowering the conductivity of your water will greatly increase the chances of the eggs being fertilised.

ah kool i didnt know that there is alot of current in the tank its very very low i have had angels breed in the same tank and they like it low to all there eggs hatched the male i have got is only 4/5" big and the female is bigger then him.
i have another male coming that is 7" and he is in the pick above red eggs mean they are eggs that have been fertalised or can they be any colour ?
