Santarem Peixes Ornamentais Tours offers a wide range of expeditions catering to many different interests. Of course, the natural beauty and biological diversity of the Amazon are common features of all our expeditions. If you enjoy beauty, adventure, wildlife and people, we are confident that one of our expeditions will suit your interests or needs.
EXPEDITION PRICING & PAYMENT
The 10 days trips are priced from 1650 to 2000. Individuals extending for a second consecutive trip on another trip receive a sizeable discount on their second expedicion . The diference of prices depend the indevidual room in the Pousada Ponte das Peras for one or two persons and the bed in the boat .We have a limited places .
WHAT DOES EXPEDITION PRICING INCLUDE?
Airport transfer, luggage handling, and flight reconfirmation service at the Santarem airport (inbound and outbound).
One night hotel at Ponte das Pedras (as noted in detailed itineraries).
Transfer service and baggage handling between hotel and port facilities in Santarem.
Baggage handling on river boats and at land facilities in the Amazon.
Expert knowledge of expedition leader and services of bilingual guide/translator for the duration of the expedition.
All river transportation, and use of river boat during boat-based expeditions. Use of expedition skiffs for excursions. Services of crew members for operating expedition boats and skiffs.
All river transportation, use of field site facilities, trails, etc., during land-based expeditions. Use of expedition skiffs for excursions.
All meals while aboard river boats or at Amazon field stations. Also purified drinking water, tea and coffee.
Full complement of linens, towels, etc., aboard river boats or at Amazon field stations.
EXPEDITION PRICING DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
National and international air fare from your hometown to Santarem .
Fees for passports, visas, or other identity documents.
Any airline "excess luggage" or "oversize luggage" charges.
Any airline charges for luggage requiring special handling.
Any hotel costs (if needed) in Santarem or other locations while you are in route to/from Santarem
National or international airport departure taxes (including Brasil domestic fly).
Items of a personal nature, including prescription medicines, souvenirs, toiletries, insect repellent, etc.
One or two meals in Santarem as noted in detailed trip itineraries.
Hotel and other costs for extra days/nights spent in Santarem before or after expeditions.
Alcoholic beverages & carbonated drinks during the expedition
The cost of any permits that may be required for exporting items (tropical fish, plants, etc.) from Brazil. If you do plan on exporting items that may need a permit, plan this well in advance - it takes a long time to arrange permits, and we won't be able to help at the last minute.
RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT
To reserve space, send a deposit of 1000/person along with a completed and signed waiver of liability. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations made within 60 days of departure require full payment with the Final payment in euros funds for all land and air arrangements is due 30 days prior to departure. Payments from the Euros may be made by personal , bank-bank transfer of funds, western union We regret that we cannot accept credit card payment.
BANK TRANSFERS
Payments may also be made by direct electronic transfer from your bank to the Banco do Brasil escrow account. Your bank will use either the foreign wire code (Swift code) or the ABA code. Contact us for details if you wish to make a bank transfer.
CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations must be in made in writing and are effective upon receipt in our office. Cancellations received up to 60 days prior to departure are refunded all monies. Thereafter, refunds are limited to the amount recoverable from boat and land operators. In the event that an expedition is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, and you are unable to reschedule for another date, all monies will be refunded with the exception of personal expenses you may have incurred in preparation for the expedition. The encourage all expedition participants to protect their investment through the purchase of travelers insurance
DISCOUNTS AND INCENTIVES
Repeat clients are always eligible for expedition discounts. Additional discounts or commission may be awarded to clients who recruit additional expedition participants. Families and larger groups may also have discounts
Expedicion
Our expedicion is for 10 days and incluided the big boat Duarte , one night in a Pousada in the midle of Amazonia , Ponte das Pedras , food , drinks , indevidual bed in the big boat , visit΄s of comunitys , fishing , etc is all incluided.
Fisrt expedicion 12 of October to 22 of October 2008 from Santarem to Ponte das Pedras, Inanu , Obidos, Oriximina , Maracanγ e Nhamunda you can see in the map.
MOST OF OUR EXPEDITIONS ALSO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FOLLOWING:
hiking on forest trails through primary and secondary rainforest
caught with fishermans , collection and study of ornamental tropical fish
small boat through flooded forest, on small rivers, etc.
night hikes in the forest in search of nocturnal reptiles, birds and fish
visit to marketplaces in the city of Santarem, Nhamunda
visit to the historic center of the city Santarem
visit our farm and buying same of our wild fish
BOAT-BASED EXPEDITIONS - Our boat-based expeditions are aboard our pamacari-style river boat, the Duarte . We have same photos about the boat see floor plans and other details of the boat. A typical boat-based expedition covers many river miles, and allows access to more remote areas than a land-based trip. Several hours each day are spent in motoring rivers and waterways, with periodic stops at sites of interest. Every night is usually spent in a new location. The exact stops depend the lever of the water in the rivers, and the interests of the expedition participants they could include black-water lakes for fishing purposes, or a local village to trade for handicrafts or to see how the people live. Generally, a wide range of stops is included on any given boat-based trip, allowing participants to see and do a variety of things.
If you are fascinated with water and rivers, love boats or dolphins, enjoy incredible skies both day and night, or just enjoy sitting back and watching the scenery unfold, then a boat trip may be the right one for you. River boat trips can be very relaxing, and if you wish to avoid any strenuous activity, it is easy to do so and still have a rich experience. There are many short skiff excursions away from the main boat, giving you the opportunity to see additional sights and waterways, but without having to do much walking or hiking. If you do enjoy strenuous activity, however, there is still opportunity for that as well - hiking on some local trails, swimming, collecting aquarium fish, etc. If you want to mix boat- and land-based expeditions, it is possible to do so with one of our hybrid trips
