these came in as Leopard A. seem like nice fish but they have holes in their head. It's really disappointing. I'll start treating them today , any advice would be much appreciated.

leopard is big spot. I'd like to call small spot one RSG.
head hole is normally caused by inside parasite or lack of vitamins.

thanks, I'm totally p*ssed off. one out of the four is ok, one has minor holes, but these two, if they had craters any larger they'd be eruptions. they are not showing any behavioral signs of a spironucleus infection so I guess thats a positive.

Hiya Samir,

Very nice leopards mate, love the nice fine spots ! I wouldn't worry to much about the HITH, with the correct treatment they should be back to form in no time. Best of luck with them :D

Cheers,

Dee :D

I'm using aquamaster pond ph adjuster which contains phosphoric acid.

Thats because if it gets the slightest knock, it turns on again. I've been through 4 sets of batteries.

Have you got octozin for the HITH ?

Add vitamin drops to the water as well mate

yes G, I will be using Octozin. Right now I'm trying to keep them at very low ph. I'm down to 4.5 . luckily no other fish have them.

it's better keep ph above 7 while using medicine. some will become poisonous in acid water, and fish will have better appitite in the water which is a little bit brine .

Tao thanks for the advice, I decided not to start with the meds as yet and just keep them at low ph, will start when I get all the fish together and once they settle down, clean them out all at once.

As if...but you almost got it. pH before meds...I like that....but I would be proud if you used something such as almond leaves or peat to lower the pH. ;)

Oh yeah...fish dont absorb vitamins from the water column.

Good to see you all again :-D . Hope everyone is having a nice holiday.
