My tank hood is an incandecent one. At the moment I have 2 flourescent lights in there.

I would like to know which is the best lighting for a Discus, something with a high kelvin reading (blue) or something with the low kelvin reading (reds tones)?

I am looking for the right color to show off the colors and not make the fish look drab.

5000K???

Hi guys

Unfortunately with lighting in regard to discus you need to establish what your goals are. Do you want plant growth or are you wanting to highlight the fish beautiful colors?

Most good plant tubes are dull to the human eye as they are specific to suit the plants needs not ours. What is generaly pleasing to us is not to the plants. If you can get a tube such as the aquasky for the plants and one like an aquarelle to highlight fish color.
