My understanding is that co2 reduces kh and that when using a co2 system kh must be added. Does anyone use a calcium reactor with their co2 system to dose? Why or why not?

It all depends on your tap water. If you tap water is hard, there is no need to add cacium into your water. Adding Ca into your water will shoot up the pH for sure. Calcium reactor mostly are used for salt water tanks to increase pH.

I don't think co2 reduces kh. It reduces pH I think.

Thanks for the input. I have learned that with an auto system the most important thing at first is checking the KH. Mine spiked within 24 hours as the controller was set at too low a PH. Very high co2. Adjusting the PH up on the monitor now has me in balance. Near miss on casualties.
