price of Metronidazole

what is the going rate for Metronidazole i saw a vet today to get some i told him Dose rate is 250 mg per 40 lts of tank water every 12 hours, with a 30% water change before each new dose, for 5 days. and i will decrease water level by 50 % so he wanted to charg me $40 for 5,000 mg of metronidzole

i'm pritty shaw it can be heaps cheaper how much did you pay and where from

It's cheaper in USA. I bought 100 200mg tablets for about $20 on line. Not sure if you can buy on line in your area or not.

That works out at 45 cents a tablet.
It cost me 15 cents for 200mg tablets and thought that was dear,asked the vets if they could get 400mg for me.
They got back to me and said its dearer 47 cents for 400g,where 2/200 mg 30 cents.
Looks like they sell you guys down there 200mg tablets for the price of 400mg tablets.

Hi guys, If your going to the doctors for a visit get it from them, i get my metro 400mg tabs x 21 for $15.55. I use to tell my doctor i had giardia (which is quite common in our water supply up here) but he knows its for my fish. If u use the Giardia method they may try to give u Flagyl tabs but just state u want metro. My doctor is ok with it as he knows im a fish nut.

lol yeah it is, only need them when i go reef fishing overnight lol. I only get the metro from him as the vets up here request $50.00 consultation then they require a fish dead or alive to do paths on it $165.00 then the cost of the meds. So $15.55 is alot cheaper, have the metro on hand just in case i ever require it, preventative measures mostly. Knowing my lucky wld require it on a weekend when nothing is open.
