Howdy All,

I currently have a 65 Gallon tank with 5G of it being the the Wet/Dry built in filtration in the back. I have 3 sponges on top which catch most of the debris and break down the waste if any gets trap in there. After that is a loadful of BioBall that is 3/4 filled with water. Within the main tank, I also have a sponge filter which is to be used if I ever need to start a hospital tank. Do you think this is sufficient or should I replace the BioBalls with Ceramic media? I swear I have read somewhere that Ceramic media is not that ideal as debris can get trap in there and is not that ideal for discus. Is this true? Should I do a combination of Ceramic Media mixed in with BioBalls? I currently have 3 Discus, 3 loaches, and 3 German Rams in there. Any comments or feedbacks would be much appreciated.

Good Day

firs off a big wlecome to the forum!!:)

i use ceramic media, an a lot of others do aswel, an i havnt heard of anyone having any issues because of it.

also a lot of people use bio balls but they are used mainly in sumps or areas where a lot of filter media is needed (bioballs are cheaper an bigger, then cermaic noodles), so i think youl be fine with that set up.
