Hey guys,

I bought 6 young discus about 2 month ago, at the moment there are two of them are doubled the size of others.
Another 2 with virtually no growth since purchase, and the middle two has some growth.

Any one know what might be happening?
They've all been in the same tank ever since i got them.
4ft bare bottom, 30 degrees, 30% weekly water change

Feed twice daily with sera discus granular food.
Suppliment with frozen blood worm.

Cheers,
Jim

Some discus are runts that never grow ...
Some are what may be called super fish and grow at double the normal rate...
Then there are the average growers ..
Sometimes the ones that grow the quickest are males ...
Sometimes they are not, and they are just dominant females ...
The alpha fish in the tank grows quicker as it gets more food ... I would guess you have 2 males and 4 females in that tank ..
I could be wrong though ..
Aslong as the smallest two do grow even if it is slowly i would worry too much ..

id probably put a divider up and move the smaller ones on one sides just so you can give them there share of food
eventually you may find the smaller ones getting picked on to the extent that they may go off there food altogether

if you cannot seperate them try upping water changes to 50% twice or even thrice a week.
