I have 3 large L168's for sale, size ranges from 10-12cm. I suspect there are 2 fems and 1 male, but cannot confirm. All are very healthy, showing great colour and eating very well on pellets, vegies and bloodworms.

Great catfish to clean u your discus tank, they love munching on algae !

Heay Oz,

I'm not really much of a catfish person and don't really know the difference between L052 and L168  I bought these as L168's, but after doing a quick google on L052's they both look very similar ... now i'm confused LOL.

Cheers,

Dee. :)

L168 = stripes are more separated
L052 = stripes are connected / not as "stripey"

General consensus is that they are the same species, but different localities. L052 (orinocco basin) L168 (rio negro), these two systems are connected.

I would happily take them off your hands.... to bad your in melb :(

Heya Oz,

After doing a bit of research on the difference between L052/L168, I came up with the exact same explanation as what you just posted ... One explanation for the difference in markings was different coloured substrate in the 2 locality's, hence the different markings. But yeah most info implied same species for the two.

Thanks for the info mate, appreciate it :thumb

Cheers,

Dee :)
