Just to clarify a few other things.

In regards to the APW website, I designed and built the website as it is, as well as that, I am responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the database as I also host the website on one of my servers. I am proud to say no other local OLS comes close to the levels of security that I have installed, along with the customer based features which are in the process of being further enhanced. (APW is also the only aquarium related ecommerce website in Australia using full 256bit SSL encryption, with its own dedicated server).

All of the other Aquariums Australia websites are currently being built, and/or redesigned by myself as well.

Why am I advising everyone of this? Incorrect rumours and inuendos have been circling around for too long now, so time to put them to rest.

In regards to the suggestions by some of this being a conflict of interest, I clearly state this. I work very closely with all the sponsors here, and know many of them as friends. When it comes to the promoting of any sponsor on this forum, or any other that I own or operate, I will give any sponsor the same level of backing that I would my own business.

Thanks

I think its safe to say that
1) Apw offers the all round best service and pricing of any online shop in Australia
2) Amano is the clear leader in high end products for the planted Aquaria
3) SLS is the premier shop in Australia for the purchase of Quality Discus

I have seen no evidence that any of these business have enjoyed favour over any other sponsers here.
Proteus will admit himself to using other sponsors here such as Xtreme for his own personal needs and will give evidence to other sponsors excellent service.
I think that some of these rumours have been started by people that perhaps have forgotten the spirit of the hobby.

even if there was a conflict of interest i dont see why anyone should have a problem with it. rumours and inuendos will unfortunately do the rounds no matter what you do. i like the apw website for its simplicity and ease of use, not to mention how organised they are. i dont think you need to give any explanations to anyone. good products will sell, promote or not

Thanks Taksan.

Samir, we/I realise explanations were not required, however as a group of companies Aquariums Australia needed to be promoted, and part of that is to make public the company structure. I along with a few others have known of this for some time, now it is time things are built up. Plus the inuendos/comments on some other forums were starting to get a little old.

Aside from tinkering with websites etc, my experience lies in the field of quality assurance (ISO based) and brand awareness and protection. The best way to build a business is via the use of goodwill. Given that several of the Aquariums Australia businesses have been running for several years, this will help in giving new potential customers some assurance that the company is well established an not going to disappear in a weeks time.

The other positive to come of this is the sheer buying power that the company has, and via this, products and services can be offerred at prices not seen before.
